Volunteering

Over the past 20 years, the Breakers have evolved from a loose confederation of competitive soccer teams into a nationally recognized soccer club providing top level, professional development to the youth of Santa Cruz County. The Breakers have been recognized for our efforts as a Nike Premier Club, as well as a United States Soccer Federation Academy Club. None of this would have happened without the volunteer efforts of the people involved in the club. Without their thousands of hours of collected effort, the club would not have achieved this success. We thank those that have come before us, for creating these opportunities for our children. We are now reaching out to people in our Club community to those who that want to help take the club to the next level.

There are many areas to participate in – tournaments & events, scheduling & league management, marketing & publicity, and more. If you have a professional skill set that can assist us, and have the wherewithal to participate, please consider it – there are many kids in Santa Cruz County that would greatly appreciate your efforts. If you are interested in helping, please contact anyone on the Board of Directors to discuss it further: volunteers@santacruzbreakers.org.

The minimum volunteer requirements from one parent/guardian from each family of one or more Breakers Players to do the following for the club:

- 4 hours for one of our tournaments – Breakers Cup Summer tournament or our Halloween Tournament. Tournament duties include Field Marshaling, assisting with Team Check in, selling T-Shirts and more.

- 4 hours for general club activities – Parents can opt out of this by making a club donation of $100. (The club would prefer the volunteer effort.)
